Bass D

Ceramic Bass D Ocarina

£ 120.00 inc-vat £ 100.00 ex-vat

The Langley ceramic Bass Ocarina sounds exactly one octave below the plastic Oc and ceramic Alto and two octaves below the Mini. It produces a consistently pure, resonant sound.

Bass ocarinas can be introduced to your Ocestra™ or ocarina group to double melody and harmony parts in any of the Play your Ocarina books. The Bass is also a great ocarina for the teacher to play as part of a class ocarina group. Juniors with large-ish hands, teenagers, and adults can all play this ocarina successfully.

Watch 'Daisy Daisy' in the Video section to see Basses and Tenors providing the um-cha-cha accompaniment.

As with all our handmade ceramic ocarinas, the Bass is beautifully glazed in aquamarine and supplied complete with cord in a presentation box for safe-keeping.

A FREE Ocarina sampler booklet containing full instruction, fingering-charts and 8 tunes comes with each instrument getting you off to a great start!

Please note: this is a unique hand-made instrument and therefore the aquamarine glaze will vary slightly from instrument to instrument.

Langley Ceramic Ocarinas are played in school award-winning performances (see Video Gallery). The English 4-hole fingering system on top, and the thumb-holes underneath are identical to those on the plastic 4-hole and 6-hole Oc®, making the transition from plastic to ceramic easy. Different sizes of ceramic ocarina offer a variety of sounds to enhance any group or consort, from amateur to professional. To listen to each ocarina, visit the Sound section on this site.

Ocarina Workshop® have supplied plastic and ceramic ocarinas to the BBC Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, City of Birmingham and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras along with London Sinfonietta and many other world class ensembles.
